Significant wear to boards with chipped pieces, tears and light staining. Text blocks are marbled. Marbled end papers have ex libris sticker removed on front inside cover. There are some long vertical tape repairs on end papers and front matter. Title page with engraving and tissue paper intact but edges of paper are chipped (paper fragile for first few pages only). Contents page begins with page 784, but first page of book is 769, which I can't explain. The rest of the signatures are attached and last page of book is index, through "K", page 1530. Pages are majority clean and very good (no foxing, writing or tears observed, occasional stain/spot). Rear marble fly leaf is missing. Condition is FAIR. Most of the damage is to the boards, binding and the first few pages; majority of pages, including engravings, are very good. See photos.
