Octavo (19.5cm.); publisher's card wrappers in pictorial dust jacket; 384pp. Dust jacket rather worn, front flap nearly split along fold, several small chips and closed tears to margins with subsequent creasing, wrappers a bit rubbed, textblock uniformly toned due to inferior paper quality, else a Very Good copy in a Good example of the rare and vibrant jacket. French translation of the author's 1947 novel of the Great Migration "Lonely Crusade," published here the same year Himes emigrated to France, where he lived for nearly the rest of life.
