The character-drawing is excellent; particularly the portrait of the grandmother who takes care of young Mattias Stellenheim, and the whole book is swift, honest and compelling. Dust jacket has a small chip at the crown of the spine, darkening to the edges and a diagonal corner crease on the back. First American printing. book.
