24 pp. Deutsch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Essay from the year 2020 in the subject Tourism - Miscellaneous, grade: 78/100, University of Leeds (School of Earth and Environment), course: Critical Perspectives on Environment and Development, language: English, abstract: This…review essay aims to synthesise the current understanding of socio-economic and social impacts of marine ecotourism on the wellbeing of local communities by discussing the findings presented in recent empirical research papers. This review considers studies conducting economic impact evaluations on shark diving and whale watching, as well as social impact studies of tourism development in protected areas.Firstly, the key findings of empirical case studies are presented and analysed, focusing on how these argue for the marketization of marine resources through ecotourism either as a development opportunity or as a means for species conservation. This is followed by an analysis on how this form of environmental governance involves novel forms of power between communities and government institutions. This review argues that marine ecotourism as a means of neoliberal conservation presents opportunities as well as constraints for environmental justice. 16 pp. Englisch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Essay from the year 2019 in the subject Sociology - Individual, Groups, Society, grade: 65/100, University of Leeds (School of Earth and Environment), language: English, abstract: This essay elaborates on the role of the corporatio…n in creating sustainable societies. It draws on different concepts, such as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and benefit corporations, and argues for a systemic change regarding the relationship between private sector, societies and the natural environment to create an environment for sustainable societies to thrive. In 1972, the simulation study Limits to Growth issued a warning on perpetual economic growth within the system of finite resources of planetary boundaries. Since the threats of ceaseless growth have been recognized, the pursuit of sustainability has been high on the global agenda. The term is premised on the definition of sustainable development from the report Our Common Future, which limits the satisfaction of present needs to the extent it hampers future generations to satisfy their own. It triggered an accruing plethora of diverging definitions, each taking a different angle on the concept in order to meet the manifold prerequisites of its convoluted nature.Due to the ambiguous interpretations of sustainability, there is no objective 'ideal state' societies can aim for. Coomer (1981) elaborates that sustainable societies seek to find 'an equitable relationship with the physical environment (.) [and] will not generate changes that may seriously impair that which sustains [them] [.]', which emphasizes the notion of development rather than achievement. Paired with the 'Brundtland+' definition by Van de Kerk and Manuel (2008), sustainable societies effectuate sustainable development while 'each human being has the opportunity to develop itself in freedom, within a well-balanced society and in harmony with its surroundings' and 'looking for alternative ways of growing'. 20 pp. Englisch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2020 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Literature, grade: 1,0, Saarland University, course: Proseminar Posthumanism in Contemporary British Literature and Culture, language: Englis…h, abstract: In this paper, I will analyse the representation of the gendered and raced androids in Alex Garland's science-fiction dystopia Ex Machina (2015), providing a close reading through a feminist lens, and critically reflecting upon the construction of their posthuman identities in a gendered and raced human-like body. I argue that, even though the film may have some subversive aspects regarding its representation of patriarchal power structures, it fails to dismantle certain sexist and racial stereotypes, but instead contributes to their solidification by assigning them to the posthuman subject. This visual portrayal of discrimination against women and especially non-white women in a system that privileges men and white people is not only a reflection of prevalent socio-cultural and political conditions, but also the cinematographic result of the white patriarchal system itself, whether it be with regard to the film's literary design as well as its mise-en-scène and cinematography. In order to prove my point, I will rely on Laura Mulvey's essay 'Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema' (1975), extending it to the representation of racial difference, since 'gender intersects with race, class, ethnic, sexual, and regional modalities of discursively constituted identities'.With advancing technology, artificial intelligence continues to be portrayed in literature and visual culture, affecting our current and future views of the human, as well as those of 'the posthuman'. This subject is 'the figure' of Critical Posthumanism, a theoretical approach trying to discuss the question 'what it means to be human' and functioning 'like an anamnesis and a rewriting of the human and humanism'. One of its key components, as Rosi Braidotti points out, is to question the traditional view of Humanism, which places a European, male and white ideal at the core of the universe. 20 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2019 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Linguistics, grade: 1,0, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (FTSK), language: English, abstract: In this paper the bilingual language storag…e and its influence on translation is observed. It will be explored how different models of translation see the language memory storage and bilingual translation and how these models work. Furthermore, it will be analysed how these models were developed, proven and how they are used in translation. Most importantly, the paper will focus on the probably most popular and most important model of language storage and translation: The Revised Hierarchical Model. Based on this model by Kroll and Stewart (1994), it will be analysed how it came to be and how it influenced thinking in translation. Lastly, some negatives about the Revised Hierarchical Model will be explained.Bilingualism is the occurrence when a person or a whole society is able to speak two different languages. To acquire the status of a Bilingual, one can either grow up with two languages at the same time - e.g. first-generation immigrants speaking their mother tongue at home but speaking and learning another language in school - or studying a second language. The latter can be accomplished at different stages in life and in different environments, e.g. school, language courses, online etc.Being a Bilingual has helped many people throughout the world. It makes it easier to communicate with others, and it is a very important part of a translator's or an interpreter's life. And, for example, English is the world's most important commercial and trade language. This makes being bilingual necessary for many daily activities in life. 20 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2020 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Linguistics, grade: 1,7, Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel (Englisches Seminar), language: English, abstract: One hundred years ago, the… quotative 'be like' did not exist. Today, 'like' ranks within the top ten words of linguistic corpora of teen language and 'be like' is the most favored quotative of speakers younger than forty. Hence, the paper focuses on the quotative 'be like' and its remarkable pathway of an emerging new linguistic feature of the mid-20th century to one of the core features of teen language and a potentially new standard quotative of the English language in general.Linguistic evidence for the rise of 'be like' presented in this paper is mainly based on the findings of Canadian linguist Sali A. Tagliamonte who analyzed teen language on the basis of several corpora over the past decades. Her 2016 publication Teen Talk sets her apart from many other sociolinguistic studies on the quotative 'be like' as a majority of them have been published in the late 20th century, rendering them partly out of date as 'be like' is still on the rise. Tagliamonte's work not only offers an insight into historic data but also takes the linguistic developments of the early 2000s into account which allows a timely assessment of the seemingly ever-changing quotative 'be like'. In the second section of this paper, other linguists' recent study results will be taken into account to assess 'be like's' status as a quotative of the 21st century. In a third step, differing sociolinguistic implications regarding 'be like' will be illustrated by examining the sociolinguistic implications of 'be like'.The paper hence aims at approaching possible answers to the question of how the rise of 'be like' can be explained by illustrating different stages of development hinged on various generations of speakers based on Tagliamonte's research. The current status of 'be like' is assessed and put into context with popular culture and social media. The emergence of 'be like' will be put into context with stereotypes about teenagers' impact on language change as well as with the so-called Valley Girl phenomenon. By examining the sociolinguistic implications linked to 'be like's' current popularity, it will be shown that 'be like' is not simply a phenomenon of teen language but might instead settle within the English grammar of the 21st century. 20 pp. Englisch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2020 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Literature, grade: 2,3, University of Göttingen, language: English, abstract: The paper compares Claude McKay's 'Harlem Shadows' and Langston… Hughes' 'The Negro Speaks of Rivers' with regards to the topic of walking during the Harlem Renaissance. The poems arise from the Harlem Renaissance and deal with the topic of racism and the oppression of the Blacks. Moreover, both poems include the theme of walking. Hughes and McKay, who write about their emotions and experiences with Blacks being oppressed by society, do not actually take a walk or journey in the poems, which will be further discussed in the following chapters. The selected pieces differ from each other in their style and the way the theme of walking is presented which has to be examined. In literature classes, one should draw attention on these works as they are different from common Walk Poems and deal with important topics. The second chapter will have a closer look on the Harlem Renaissance. Apart from the historical background, emphasis will be put on the so-called 'Negro-culture' in literature. The mentioned poems by McKay and Hughes will be analyzed with regards to the theme of walking. A conclusion summarizes the results and points out the importance of these literary works in the context of the Harlem Renaissance as well as the representation of Walk Poetry. 24 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Essay from the year 2012 in the subject Communications - Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing, Social Media, grade: 1,7, Queen Margaret University, language: English, abstract: This paper aims to address the question, whether a…n understanding of traditional communication theory can contribute to the effective use of social media or not. The question will be addressed by utilising relevant theoretical frameworks as well as examining current developments and dominant debates within PR practice. In order to discuss this topic, it is first necessary to define what traditional communication theory is and what role it plays within PR practice. Thus, the assumption of PR to be an interdisciplinary study constituted of humanities, sociology and communication appears important. Whilst humanities studies focus on the viewpoint of rhetorical and discursive approaches and sociology studies understand communication in terms of systems process by adopting systems theory, communication studies address PR from different 'mindsets'.Human communication is explained with psychological concepts; persuasion is considered to be a goal of both mediated and direct communication; and mass communication focuses on media relations theories and media effects. Derived from this we can conclude that communication theory can be identified as an element of PR practice. Correspondingly. the use of social media is a technique of building media relations, and therefore a subject of mass communication. However, these considerations do not explain which part of communication theory can be identified as traditional.Communication is inevitable in public relations (PR) practice, because it contributes to the building of good relationships between an organisation and its stakeholders with the desired outcome of '.earning understanding and support and influencing opinion and behavior'. PR practitioners manage relations to community, employees, consumer and other stakeholders by understanding and using communication concepts and strategies.Recently, the communication practice of PR practitioners has been challenged by the heavy influence of the revolutionary character of the internet. In other words, they face the challenge of adapting their communication strategies at the same pace as the new technologies and tools are developing. Especially 'the rise of social media' provided a rich debate ground for PR practitioners, PR theorists and academics of different disciplines. 16 pp. Englisch.

The CJEU also 'settles legal disputes between national governments and EU institutions.' The CJEU is divided into two courts. It gives rulings on cases brought before it and in doing so, it is required to give preliminary rulings in its capacity to interpret the laws (among other capacities) 'to ensure EU law is properly applied, but courts in different countries might interpret it differently. If a national court is in doubt about the interpretation or validity of an EU law, it can ask the Court for clarification. The same mechanism can be used to determine whether a national law or practice is compatible with EU law.' 20 pp. Englisch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Academic Paper from the year 2020 in the subject Politics - International Politics - Region: USA, grade: A, Kenyatta University, language: English, abstract: What is the main cause of polarization in the contemporary United States…and what, if anything can be done to fix it Party activists play a leading role in polarization of parties along several issue dimensions in modern American politics. In this essay, I argue that interest groups, lobbyists and other activists have become integral elements of American political parties. These activists work within party structures to advance their policy goals through selection of candidates for various positions such as the Supreme Court or lobbying elected party officials to adopt certain positions. Therefore, unlike conventional party structures, party activism is linked to the increase in polarization in the contemporary American society.Since the turn of the millennium, American political parties have become increasingly reinvigorated. Funding and staffing of party organizations has increased significantly. For instance, in 2012, the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Democratic Senate Campaign Committee (DSCC), and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) raised $290.4 million, $145.9 million, and $183.8 million respectively compared to $52.8 million, $4.1 million, and $3.8 million, respectively raised in 1976 campaigns (all sums in 2012 dollars). Most of these funds come from individual and corporate donations. However, party activists play crucial role in making these parties attractive to donors thus influencing party positions. 20 pp. Englisch.

To be able to do this, it is expedient that the following issues are addressed: What is Customary International Law What are rules of customary international law Contrary state behavior.Customary International Law is one of the major sources of International law and is described in Article 38(1)(b) of the Statute of the International Court of Justice, 1946, as 'general practice accepted as law.' According to the Legal Information Institute of the Cornell Law School, 'Customary international law refers to international obligations arising from established international practices, as opposed to obligations arising from formal written conventions and treaties. It aims to determine the economic value of the ecosystem services in order to guide in the decision-making process for its future conservation as well as to sustain its ecological and socio-economical functions.Considering the purpose and objectives of this paper the following guiding questions are addressed in the research: What are the benefits the communities derive from the Sakumono wetland What challenges will the community be facing in their efforts to preserve the wetland and due to the presence of the wetland What would they give to see the conservation of the wetland Wetlands are valuable ecosystems that occupy about 6 % of the world's land surface. They comprise both land ecosystems that are strongly influenced by water, and aquatic ecosystems with special characteristics due to shallowness and proximity to land. Although various different classifications of wetlands exist, a useful approach is one provided by the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. It divides wetlands into three main categories of wetland habitats: marine/coastal wetlands, inland wetlands, and man-made wetlands. The marine and coastal wetlands include estuaries, inter-tidal marshes, brackish, saline and freshwater lagoons, mangrove swamps, as well as coral reefs and rocky marine shores such as sea cliffs. 16 pp. Englisch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2016 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Literature, grade: 2,0, University of Rostock, language: English, abstract: The paper intends to show you the relevance of power and authorit…y in David Mitchell's novel 'Cloud Atlas'. To do so this paper investigates the different characters and their identities. Do they all suffer from a kind of oppression and what else do they have in common concerning the question of dominance of stronger people towards weaker These questions will be answered in the first chapter of the main body. Here the reader has to expect an overview of the different actions of the narrators rather than a general study of their characters. The several forms of oppression and the dangers the main characters had, have or will have to fear will be outlined. Furthermore, some other aspects and terms will be mentioned and explained there in general, especially the concept of temporality and its meaning inside the novel. After giving you this review I will concentrate on two main protagonists, Adam Ewing and Sonmi~451. Here again, but in a lot more detail, I will highlight the relevance of colonialism, dominance and slavery in the cases of these two characters. Questions that guide these chapters are the following: What have the narrators done or what have they not done to escape from their fate and what is the solution of their problems In addition to the previous issues and goals I strive to achieve I want to complete this term paper with a conclusion. This conclusion first of all contains a summary of the general aspects dealt with in the main body. Moreover, a thesis will be established that might be controversial and proper to be discussed in subsequent contentions with the same or similar topics and will of course have reference to the overall topic colonialism, dominance and slavery in David Mitchell s 'Cloud Atlas'. 16 pp. Englisch.

The first part of the main chapter demonstrates the different forms of identity crises which are thematised in the novel 'The Buddha of Suburbia' by Hanif Kureishi. At this place some theoretical terms just like hybridity need to be mentioned and explained for a further understanding. Furthermore, the reader gets familiar with some other characters who play an important role in terms of identity. Part two and three of the main body specifically focus on the novel's main protagonist as well as on two major forms of identity crises. First of all Karim's Indian background is taken into account accompanied with the problems his cultural hybridity causes. Afterwards the many sexual experiences the narrator gains in the novel are investigated. Which events have an impact on his personality Which kinds of inner conflicts does he have to face and does he manage to solve them or does he miserably fail All these questions are answered in the main body. The Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI) is a test that was developed by Raskin and Hall (1979) in order to measure the personality trait of narcissism for research in social psychology. It is the most commonly used test to measure Narcissism, in fact, it is used in over 75% of studies on Narcissism and is based on the definition found in the third edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.Research suggests that there are two variants of Narcissism: Grandiose narcissism which is characterized by arrogance, over-inflation of one's qualities such as talent or intelligence, sense of entitlement, as well as the tendency to denigrate others in order to boost their own self-esteem. Vulnerable Narcissism on the other hand, is characterized by self-inhibition, and the desire for approval by others and emotional instability, but vulnerable narcissists still have unrealistically high expectations of themselves, such as the attainment of unlimited power and money and personal features such as beauty. The NPI was not meant to be used for diagnostic purposes, that is, for the clinical diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, which is a mental illness characterized by an extremely fragile sense of self and significant life impairments. This disorder is generally assessed by using other tests such as the Pathological Narcissism Inventory (PNI). The NPI is intended to measure the normal (sub-clinical) levels of narcissism that can be commonly found among the general population. This means that even if an individual obtains a high score on the NPI, it may not mean that they have Narcissistic Personality Disorder per se. 20 pp. Englisch.

The focus lies on environmental sustainability. The economic growth in the last 2 decades has led to the lifting of over 660 million people from poverty but have also led to the raisin of the levels of incomes of millions. However, such developments at the expense of environmental sustainability has come at the expense of the poor communities and the environment. Despite the growth patterns recorded in the last couple of decades, environmental sustainability has in the recent years become a contemporary challenge as billions of people still lack access to services such as electricity, access to clean water and are malnourished. Top executives of companies have started to deal with unique and complex environmental challenges. The majority of the executives are still hesitant to adopt sustainable strategies to the core of the operations of the firms including in marketing due to the belief that the costs are higher than the benefits. Such beliefs are contrary to the academic research and the bottom line benefits of sustainable marketing practices.Environmental sustainability as a contemporary challenge that has a number of influence on the marketing practices, markets and consumers amongst others. Environmental sustainability has had significant impacts on the consumers in a number of ways. The research indicates that B2B and B2C clients have increasingly adopted a sustainable view where sustainability of the company is used by the consumers in the consumer purchase behavior. In the recent years, the consumers have become increasingly interested in environmentally friendly alternatives thus creating markets for the sustainability. The consumer expectation has led to the push for the businesses to develop the sustainable products. 20 pp. Englisch.

In the recent past, the term has been used as a campaign tool for American foreign policy abroad. Since the end of Germany's Marshall Plan in the 1950s, none of the subsequent economic recovery plans have had similar levels of impact. On June 5, 1947, the secretary of state General George C Marshall suggested that United States provide economic aid to assist Europe in recovering from the devastation of World War II. The Congress appropriated $13.3 billion (more than $100 billion in today's dollars) to be used over four years to reconstruct Europe. This plan is considered successful in Europe, especially in Germany, where it significantly boosted economic growth. Consequently, future administrations adopted similar approaches in an attempt to stimulate economies abroad. The most recent similar plan is the George W Bush reconstruction plan for Iraq. The 'Marshall Plan' for Iraq failed to spark similar success like in Germany in the 1950s. Arkes (2015) intimated that the failure of Iraq's 'Marshall Plan' can be attributed to differences in political, economic, and security conditions. In this section, we critically review the Marshall Plan as a model of reconstruction aid by comparing the conditions and outcomes in Germany and Iraq. 24 pp. Englisch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Scientific Study from the year 2021 in the subject Musicology - Systematic musicology, grade: NA, , language: English, abstract: In this paper an idea is presented which offers musicians, composers and students 1) a method to analy…ze the harmonic relatedness between different chords of a given cadence and 2) an opportunity to use this information to create/compose meaningful cadences. For this purpose a mathematical model is introduced where given cadences or chord progressions of a short music piece are the input. The output of the model are calculated values for the harmonic relatedness (= HR) of the chords in the cadence. Two additional parameters derived from the mathematical model - DM (= disharmonic movement) and HarmoT (= harmonic tension) - are demonstrated to be very useful for analyzing given cadences of short music pieces. Using three examples of different musical types (Pop/Beatles, Classic/Gibbons; Jazz/Coltrane) it is shown that these two parameters give new and additional insights in the harmonic concept of short music pieces compared to well know and established analysis-procedures. Details of the mathematical model as well as aspects of different calibration options of the model are presented and discussed. Further ideas are proposed how the mathematical model may help musicians and composers in their task or process of improvising or creating music. Although the introduced mathematical model has limitations (which are discussed in this paper as well) it might offer an additional and easy to use tool for anyone who works on meaningful chord progressions and harmonic concepts of short music pieces. 28 pp. Englisch.

Russian Cosmism is…a philosophical movement that emerged in the early 1900s when many scientific discoveries were taking place, such as the discovery of radioactivity, viruses, and galaxies other than the Milky Way. Russia's governmental system was also transforming into a state capitalistic and socialist system, and nationalism was expanding more than ever. Many new, and even anarchist movements were also arising as a result, sometimes in retaliation, such as the Futurist movement.Russian Cosmism therefore was a way to answer many anxiety-laden questions that were arising as a result of the changes taking place in Russian society. Such questions also inquired about the meaning of life, and why such changes were even occurring in the first place. In finding answers to such questions, humans could then figure out ways for how to control themselves as a society, as well as their environment, and therefore, save themselves from any future self-destruction. 24 pp. Englisch.

It focuses on the applicability of participatory methods to address and manage its challenges, since they have been identified as a dominant approach in sustainability policy making in the literature.Issues such as global warming, climate change, biodiversity loss, ocean acidification, and increasing poverty are just a few of many other problems we are currently facing. Dooming projections about the future has inflamed the discourse on sustainability and resulted in ongoing debates and commentaries about its definition across varying disciplines, each elaborating different perspectives of the concept. Due to its complexity it has been argued that achieving sustainability represents a 'wicked problem', a term describing problems that are impossible to be solved, but can only tamed (Rittel and Webber, 1973). Some even argue, that significant sustainability issues are beyond the scope of wicked problems and distinguish these as 'super wicked problems'. 16 pp. Englisch.

When planning a website, the development process includes the research and analysis of the target group in order to catch their attention. Colors and symbols for instance are relevant for many cultures and need to be taken into account when designing a website. Due to the increasing globalization of markets, websites have to be adapted to the customer's needs. Therefore, an investigation on cultural preferences is needed. Based on the study of the IT University of Copenhagen of 2005, this paper aims to answer the question of whether the company Starbucks is adapting its websites to the cultures of their international markets. Furthermore, it shall examine what the main differences of the websites are. Before that, the contexting theory by Edward T. Hall will be explained, followed by an outline on intercultural web design. The analyzed low context country will be Germany, whereas the high context country will be South Korea. As a conclusion, this paper will summarize the findings and give an outlook on the future of Hall's theory. 24 pp. Englisch.

While some assert that narco-trafficking may be a strong predictor of terrorism, others contest this observation. In this research paper the focus lies on the impact of the Afghan opioid trade on terrorist violence in Central Asia, an area of drug transit states. This research paper and the findings lend support to the argument that narco-trafficking facilitates terrorism, although the substantive impact of the drug trade on terrorist activity is comparatively small. However, it suggests that the drug-terror relationship is multifaceted, complex, and in detail related to the state. The research paper also finds that the links between narco-trafficking and terrorist violence are quite varied, with some defined by direct intersections of violent and criminal non-state actors, while others shaped by deep involvement of the state in the drug trade . Violent non-state entities, including extremist organisations and resistance forces, try to collaborate with criminal networks in order to fund acts of aggression and procure materials for devastation and assassination. Such organisations are involved in the legal economy through real estate, corporations, and other institutions. The drug-terror thesis points out to the ideological shift between the two organisations but establishes that they mutually benefit from the sheer profit. This research paper supports the claim that drug trafficking induces terrorism, while the direct impact of drug trafficking on terrorist activity is comparatively limited and under-researched. 24 pp. Englisch.

Digital transformation, the era of life 3.0, automation, Internet of Things, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence are major frontier technologies, that today's business world is confronted with. The idea of obtaining the highest possible amount of efficiency in our society and meanwhile reaching the greatest point of human capacity, through widening our own horizon and creating inorganic mechanisms, that know and continue to learn how to function on a level of an organic life are the most recent and thought provoking aspects of our current time. This manner of research is significant, because humankind is only at the beginning of incorporating inorganic life into their work sphere, which leads many corporations to creating trend hubs, hiring the best available technology experts to consult the company and prepare it for future incidents. The conversation covers predominantly the technology itself, but not what will happen to the person being replaced, which is a decisive element in people refusing opportunities. They are not aware of what will happen to them and how their role changes. 40 pp. Englisch.

The economic risks, issues of sustainability, environmental problems and scarcity of raw materials will be discussed regarding the concept of a procurement management network. The main question is how such a network can be managed on a global scale, while looking at possible risks and case studies dealing with specific parts of the subject. The paper is structured linearly to give a clear representation of the important aspects of procurement and supplier relationship management (SRM). The important aspects will be assessed individually with a focus on how a sustainable relationship can be built considering that the economic situation could change rapidly in a cross-border relation.Firstly, it is essential to look at the SRM as a basis of the process of procurement. This is followed by an assessment of how the authorities should be involved and how a contractual concept can support a supply chain relation network. Furthermore, possible economic risks will be taken into consideration. These economic risks are in juxtaposition to a potential scarcity of raw materials and the difficulties that international trade has to deal with in order to show responsibility for an increasing environmental threat. Finally, it will be discussed, how sustainability can be ensured. All of those various aspects of procurement management will be supported by case studies. 16 pp. Englisch.

The study was anchored on the uses and gratifications theory. The survey research method was used. The work recommends urgent review of the various media laws to address the peculiar technicalities involved in monitoring and moderating the use of different social media platforms. Findings show that whereas many used the technology to make vital input in the political discourse, others used them to attack opponents, spread false rumours, hate and inciting messages which were believed to have contributed in the violence and tensions witnessed before, during and after the elections in many parts of the country. The following research questions have been drawn to guide the study: What is the impact of news media in political advertising in Edo state governorship election Do political parties in Nigeria recognise and make use of the new media in their political campaigns What are the factors that hinder the use of the new media for political campaigns in Edo State The new media have become veritable tools for political campaigns, because they break boundaries and frontiers, reaching every part of the world. The new media have consequences upon the social, political and economic values of people. New media hold out a possibility of on-demand access to content anytime, anywhere, on any digital device, as well as, interactive user feedback, creative participation and community formation around the media content. What distinguishes new media from traditional media is not the digitising of media content into bits, but the dynamic life of the new media content and its interactive relationship with the media consumer. This dynamic life, moves, breathes and flows with pulsing excitement in real time. It is against this backdrop therefore, that we investigate the impact of news media in political advertising: a study of 2020 governorship election in Edo state. 44 pp. Englisch.
