This history traces the Corps from its inception through its various changes of title from the 19th Middlesex Rifle Volunteers to its present title of 8th Battalion The Queens Fusiliers. Illustrated with 5 maps and 35 plates, many of the photos and badges hitherto unpublished. The First Londons have been awarded 32 Battle Honours. They sustained more casualties than any other battalion of Royal Fusiliers in the GreatWar and after having received over 3000 reinforcements in Italy during the Second World War were reduced to Cadre strength.
