By means of biodosimetry the absorbed dose was determined and the risk group was allocated. The monitoring revealed heterogeneous response of different persons to identical radiation doses received, indicating the importance of individual sensitivity of exposed persons. Exposure to a chemical mutagen was studied in a mountainous region of Georgia where the atmosphere was contaminated with arsenic. The health of children from this region was investigated. A significant delay in physical development and an increased incidence of several diseases were found. The association with the mutagenic effects of arsenic was confirmed by cytogenetic studies and a parallel finding of increased arsenic levels in the blood, urine and hair of those examined. 52 pp. Englisch.

The internal medicine service of the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Point G, considered as a 3rd reference… service in Mali, is a multidisciplinary service that receives patients with various diseases such as infectious and parasitic diseases, cardiovascular diseases, endocrine and metabolic diseases, and systemic diseases. The three previous studies evaluating the activities of the service show that the frequency of diagnosed pathologies as well as the mortality varied over the years. However, some pathologies related to adult health do not appear among the priority health actions retained by the authorities and which could lead to an increase in hospital morbidity and mortality. Thus, we decided to make an annual assessment of the activity of the internal medicine department of the Point G University Hospital. Based on our results, we have…tried to present an algorithm for surveillance of operated ears taking into account the predictive factors of recurrence and the new imaging techniques available in order to improve the results of closed tympanoplasty in the treatment of cholesteatoma otitis media. We report a study on the predictive factors of recurrence after closed technique surgery on 138 cases operated for a period of 12 years. Of the variables studied, only three were confirmed by a multivariate study with logistic regression: aspiration of cholesteatoma flakes at the initial examination (OR=13.8), the presence of cholesteatoma at the ad-antrum with a risk (OR=10.7) and the eburnated aspect of the mastoid intraoperatively (OR=7.4). In this context, the objective of our project was to raise awareness among teachers of students with ASD (dyslexia or dysorthographia) who are already receiving speech therapy, and to evaluate the effect of this awareness on their academic performance. To do this, we developed a booklet explaining these disorders, which we distributed to teachers. We compared the academic results of these children (in oral and written expression in both Arabic and French) before and after sensitization of their teachers.
