These executives worked in a variety of industries and functional areas around the United States and earned a minimum annual salary of $100,000. Results suggest that certain networking behaviors and human capital characteristics explain how individuals become identified and involved in relationships with executive search professionals and that these relationships contribute positively to current salary, career promotions, and perceived career success. These findings provide evidence of the important role that executive search firms play in the identification and allotment of executive talent. Additionally, the data provide a basis for understanding how executive search firm relationships are developed and their instrumental value in executive career attainment. 116 pp. Englisch.

The Expectation-Maximization algorithm is considered for the maximum likelihood estimation of the model parameters and the author illustrates a method for obtaining an explicit formula of the observed information matrix by using the missing information principle. An essential background on the latent class model is given and its extension to study latent changes over time. The hidden Markov model is presented consisting of hidden states and observed variables both varying over time. The latent class cluster model is extended by proposing a latent model which also incorporates the longitudinal structure of the data by using a local likelihood approach. The technique involves observation of radio signals from a distant compact source propagating through the IPM. These waves from the ra…dio source are scattering by density irregularities in the interplanetary plasma to produce a two dimensional intensity pattern on the ground. The pattern moves because of the relative velocity of the solar wind and the earth and is observed as intensity scintillations by a radio telescope. The study of IPS activity is also of practical importance, as major solar activity often results in geomagnetic disturbances which disrupt radio communication and pose radiation hazards to astronauts on space missions. For these reasons it is important to understand interplanetary activity over all possible scales and study its relation to the solar and geomagnetic activity. The existing IPS observations, however, have been more suited to study long time scale interplanetary activity. The radio telescope at Rajkot used for the present investigations consists of a full wave dipole antenna array, correlation receiver, and analogue and digital data recording devices. 60 pp. Englisch.

The complexes are colored, stable in air and insolubl…e in H2O, ethanol and non-polar solvents such as benzene. However, they dissolve in polar solvents such as DMF and DMSO. IR spectra of the complexes were recorded to confirm their structures. The assignments of the characteristic vibrational frequencies of the complexes were made by comparison with the vibrational frequencies of the free ligand. The ligand behaved as neutral tetradentate ligand coordinating through the four imine nitrogens. In all Complexes the signals of the imine groups were merged together and shifted to lower wave number accompanied by a decrease in their intensities, indicating they are involved in complex formation. The UV Vis absorption spectrum of the complexes shows single d d transition band in the 554-545 nm range as expected for a square planar copper(II) environment with similar N4 donor tetradentate Schiff base. 1H NMR studies of porphyrin reveal the aromatic nature of the porphyrin macrocycle. 60 pp. Englisch.

Research on the families of long-term missing persons, to this point, has been limited. Therefore, familial experience is not well understood. Little is known of the trauma, loss and grief associated with a missing person within these families. The findings of this study highlight the need for a biopsychosocial framework to understand the ways in which families experience the psychological presence of a person who is physically absent. The study sets out to examine and document the nature of the conversation between soldiers and corps members on camp, and to d…emonstrate that power is linked to language in the utterance of soldiers to corps members on camp. The data used for the analysis are the conversational exchanges between soldiers and corps members as recorded during orientation camps in Kaduna and Abuja camps respectively. The analysis employed the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) framework. Specifically the Fairclough (1989) model of analysis was used. Fairclough s model of CDA has three components: description, interpretation and explanation. These three components were the analytical procedure employed to explicate the different contexts in which the relationship between soldiers and corps members on camp is laced with unequal power. The study found out that Critical Discourse Analysis is an interdisciplinary area of study which encapsulates other linguistic studies such as Pragmatics, Semantics, Sociolinguistics, Phonology and Grammar. 100 pp. Englisch.
