In Chapter 5, a procedure to compute variogram in the case of irregular grid has been outlined. Minor modifications have been made in all other chapters. A new chapter on Introduction to Advanced Geostatistics has been introduced with discussions on universal kriging, disjunctive kriging, conditional simulation and median polish kriging. Review Questions are given at the end of each chapter to facilitate a better understanding of the subject by the student/practitioner. The software codes are put in a CD for convenience of the students/practitoner of geostatistics. A few additions have been made in the bibliography making it more exhaustive. We develop a powerful formalism that parameterizes the e ects of the continuum by the density of states, which we compute from scattering data. Starting with Rogers(1997) there is an ongoi…ng dispute on the proper usage of fractional Brownian motion in option pricing theory. Problems arise because fractional Brownian motion is not a semimartingale and therefore 'no arbitrage pricing' cannot be applied. While this is consensus, the consequences are not as clear. The orthodox interpretation is simply that fractional Brownian motion is an inadequate candidate for a price process. However, as shown by Cheridito (2003) any theoretical arbitrage opportunities disappear by assuming that market p- ticipants cannot react instantaneously. This is the point of departure of Rostek's dissertation. The importance of the collaborations in the various elds of computer s- ence to solve these problems linked with other sciences and techniques is clearly recognized. Moreover, the collaborative work to bridge the formal theory and practical applications becomes increasingly important and useful. In this context, and since France and Japan have strong academic and ind- trial backgrounds in the theory and practice of the scienti c challenges set by this digitized world, in 2005 we started a formal French-Japanese collaboration and workshop series on computer security. The three rst editions of these French-Japanese Computer Security wo- shops in Tokyo, September 5-7, 2005 and December 4-5, 2006 and in Nancy, March 13-14, 2008 were very fruitful and were accompanied by several imp- tant research exchanges between France and Japan. Because of this success, we launched a call for papers dedicated to computer security from it's foundation to practice, with the goal of gathering together nal versions of the rich set of papers and ideas presented at the workshops, yet opening the call to everyone interested in contributing in this context.
