Prima edizione Copia autografata
Hardcover. Condizione: Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. An exceptional, unique copy of the first edition/first printing. Boldly inscribed and decorated across two pages (title page and adjacent verso of the front free endpaper), SIGNED on the title page, dated 7 April 1998. Accompanied by a signed card (5 5/8 x 8 inches; Steadman's 1979 Looking Glass Card No.1) with autograph text on one side explaining the pedigree/identity of the teddy bear in the book, "Christopher". The opposite side of the card is printed with a Steadman illustration from his illustrated edition of Alice; both sides of the card are signed and dated. Also accompanied by a 4 1/4 x 3 3/8 inch color photo of the one-eyed "Christopher". This all came about because of a demand letter sent to Steadman by one Mr. Sprocket, an attorney in the law firm of Flywheel, Shyster and Flyweel, accusing Steadman of using the remarkably similar image of a well-worn teddy bear named "Sir Bear" without prior authorization. Glossy color illustrated boards, 9 1/4 x 8 inches, unpaginated, Ralph Steadman's wonderful illustrations and very entertaining prose. No dustjacket, as issued. Fine. (1722RO083). Signed by Author(s).
