Hardcover. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. In a red cloth hardcover with embossed decoration to boards and gilt titles to front. No dust jacket. Pages are gilt edged. 24 colour plates with descriptions. The book is in good condition. There is moderate shelf-wear to the extremities; the corners of the boards are bruised and 2" to the head of the spine is present but torn. There is tanning to the extremities of the cover, especially the spine. The front hinge is cracked and the end hinge is beginning to crack but the binding is tight. There is a former owner's bookplate and some marks to the front paste down and his name, place and date written on the ffep. There is quite heavy foxing to the last page of descriptions, page of adverts and the front of the efep. There is light foxing to some tissue guards and occasional spots scattered elsewhere. Plates are generally clean and bright.
