Mild wear to bindings, with faint scuffing to boards and gentle bumping and rubbing to corners and to head and tail of spines. Text blocks a touch shaken; bindings remain quite firm and sound. Faint dust soiling to endpapers and gentle age-toning to pages. Previous owner's name in ink and bookseller annotations in pencil to front free endpaper of first volume, with scarce pencilled notes to pages, else unmarked. Small neat tear and creasing to fold-out map of Volume IV. A presentable set, complete in 5 volumes (with Volume II planned but never published), of The Cambridge History of India, complete with fold-out maps and hundreds of plate illustrations.
