A very good, clean copy.

Together they provide a clear insight of the structure of the northern Limestone Alps, which run east-west through most of Austria. The printing year "1969" corrected by hand, probably by the Austrian geologist Alexander Tollmann (1928-2007) himself. The third part is rare. A very good set, rarely found complete.

Cloth with gilt title on the front board and spine. = This work by the Austrian geologist Alexander Tollmann (1928-2007) is richly illustrated, mainly showing facies and microfossils. The publisher did a poor job; the fore-edge is not entirely cut, and the book-block is too heavy for the binding, hence the hinges are weak. Inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper recto. Apart from the weak binding (as always), a very good, clean copy.

Hand-written label on the spine. = The original, signed manuscript of the thesis of the Austrian geologist Alexander Tollmann (1928-2007), being a bound carbon copy with the original figures in his hand, as well as his corrections. This work remained unpublished. It does, however, contain descriptions and illustrations of fossil molluscs, echinoderms, Bryozoa, and other invertebrates, including the crab, Dromilites koberi, (illustrated with a tipped-in photo) later validly described by Bachmeyer and Tollmann. Tollmann's thesis should not be confused with his published work, Das Neogen am Nordwestrand der Eisenstädter Bucht , a work without illustrations. Binding a bit weak, otherwise very good, clean.
