Nagler Monogrammisten I, 1220. - Papier etwas vergilbt und etwas fleckig. Komisch-satirische Arabeske, in der des Künstlers Signet, der Korkenzieher, selbstironisch zum "Schlangenblick" umgestaltet wird. Schrödter, Meister…des Ornaments und der Arabeske, hat sich mit diesem reizenden Blatt selbst ein Denkmal gesetzt. Er erhielt ersten Unterricht bei seinem Vater, der Kupferstecher war. 1820 ging er an die Berliner Akademie zu L. Buchhorn. Seit 1829 studierte er bei W. Schadow an der Düsseldorfer Akademie. 1848 siedelte er nach Frankfurt am Main über, wo er bis 1854 ansässig blieb. Anschließend kehrte er nach Düsseldorf zurück. 1859 folgt die Ernennung zum Professor für Ornamentik am Polytechnikum in Karlsruhe.
