A very scarce volume exploring the history of 'The Halifax Equitable Benefit Building Society' from the year 1871 - 1921. As one of a few building societ…ies in the local area, this Building Society grew rapidly and would later lead to the development on company 'Halifax'. Illustrated throughout with a photograph of their head office, and then numerous portraits of committee members largely made up of local businessmen. This work of local interest will appeal to those with an interest the history and development on this large company, or indeed those with a localised interest in the city of Halifax. In the original paper binding. Externally generally smart. Light bumping and rubbing to the head and tail of the spine, and also to the extremities. Bumping had resulted in a small tear to the front board. Small marks to the front and rear boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally clean, with the odd mark heavier to the title page.
