Das Museum lag im britischen Sektor, damit im 'Westen', unterstand administratorisch aber der DR in der DDR, damit dem 'Osten'. Daher blieb es nach dem II. Weltkrieg geschlossen, obwohl es diesen gut überstanden hatte. Die DR versuchte zwar, den Verfall aufzuhalten, konnte aber gleichwohl nicht verhindern, daß der Zahn der Zeit kräftig an den Exponaten nagte. Erst der "S-Bahn-Vertrag" überschrieb das Museum dem Bundesland Berlin und machte den Bildteil dieses Buches möglich, der die morbide Stimmung eindrucksvoll widerspiegelt. …
