The boards are flat and quite clean; there is some cracking to the hinges and the covers are a little wobbly and the spine ends show slight wear. The end papers are unmarked. The front paste down has a black and white sticker from W. H. Smith & Sons Library and beneath it a sticker with the fee for borrowing. The gutter of the rear end papers is split and the webbing from the spine is showing. The text block is firm and even and the cut edges are lightly tanned and some of the pages have light tanning on the edges. With 8 black and white plates of interiors and characters featuring in the journal. Good plus condition. Without jacket.
