After the defeat of Poland in 1939 he escaped and was interned in Romania. He escaped and made his way to France and then to England. He joined 306 Squadron based in Exeter. Moving to 303 Squadron he was shot down over occupied Holland in September 1944. During his seven months confinement he wrote what he called his "Log Book", Prisoner of War. After the war, he returned to Poland, where he died in 1973. This was published in association with Michael Joseph Limited of London. Very good in good dust jacket. DJ has some wear and soiling, edge tears and chips. First edition. Stated first published in Great Britain in 1988.
