Three previous owner's inscriptions on front endpapers, one crossed out. Text block edges toned and spotted. Endpapers browned and spotted, otherwise generally neat and clean internally, barring a little softness to pages. A lovely vintage children's story with delightful illustrations, and now very hard to find.

Award plate attached to front endpaper (Daphne Brown, Balgowleh Methodist Sunday School) Janet is plump and unaccomplished except for violin playing, but she is cheerful and makes the best of things.
