From London, the story travels to the West African coast and to the lost land of Perdita, a city whose inhabitants are directly descended from the Romans. Written by Manning Coles, the pseudonym of two British writers, Adelaide Frances Oke Manning and Cyril Henry Coles, who wrote many spy thrillers from the 1940s through the early 1960s. Illustrated by Henry Matthew Brock, a British illustrator and landscape painter. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor bumping and light fading to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is sound with light wear and chipping to the extremities. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine with a 1" closed tear to the head of the spine.
