New commissioned work by an important American contemporary artist using a multidisciplinary approach to examine issues of race and identity Produced for the Future Fields Commission in Time-Based Media by the multidisciplinary artist Martine Syms (b. 1988), Neural Swamp is an immersive video installation that builds upon Syms's interest in the proliferation, circulation, and consumption of images, as well as her continued research into machine systems that erase or make invisible Black bodies, voices, and narratives. The publication documents this new work, offering in-depth analysis and a visual essay that reflects the specific approach to images and text characterizing Syms's practice. Neural Swamp's multichannel presentation reveals its characters through their reading of a continually changing script, the variations determined by a text-generating model. Through these dynamic interactions, along with the installation's physical elements, Syms creates a kaleidoscopic view of the world and our complex relationship with one another and with technology.Published in association with the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Fondazione Sandretto Re RebaudengoExhibition Schedule:Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin (November 5, 2021-March 27, 2022)Philadelphia Museum of Art (May 14-October 30, 2022).

Dust wrapper is pale mauve, illustrated, with black/white lettering; French-folded but opens to become a poster about the exhibition. Text in Italian with English summary. Catalogue from the exhibition held May to September 2013.

Dust wrapper is mustard yellow, illustrated, with black lettering; French-folded but opens to become a poster about the exhibition. Text in Italian with English summary. Greater Torino is an exhibition series that was set up to highlight and promote local creativity and the activity of artists who were either born and raised in Turin or those who have chosen to become citizens of this city, which has increasingly become a platform for young artists in recent years. Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo has paid particular attention to young Italian artists by dedicating part of its annual exhibitions programme to emerging Italian art since it was first set up. The aim with Greater Torino is to offer local talent a professional, museum structure in which to create their own show as well as setting them the challenge of measuring up to professional curators, exhibition spaces and a wider public. The second edition in the Greater Torino exhibition series will present the work of two local artists, Ludovica Carbotta (b.1982 Turin) and Manuele Cerutti (b.1976 Turin), both of whom studied at the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti di Torino and who are already heavily involved in the local arts scene, both are active members of the Diogene collective (an annual involving international artists, as well as having worked on various art projects and featuring in exhibitions abroad themselves. Carbotta and Cerutti use different means of artistic expression to question the relationship between a work of art and its spectator: Carbotta's sculptures and installations are spontaneously influenced and shaped by the urban and metropolitan landscape, revealing half-hidden images or producing echoes that reflect their complex structure; Cerutti's paintings reveal the presence of an indecipherable enigma within a composition of pictorial layers and reoccurring symbols acting as dispositive narratives, which analyse and draw the subject to the centre of the work.

Dust wrapper is pale grey and turquoise, illustrated, with black lettering; French-folded but opens to become a poster about the exhibition. Text in Italian with English summary. Catalogue from the exhibition held February to March 2010 of works by Paola Anziche and Paolo Piscitelli. "Greater Torino is a new exhibition cycle dedicated to young generation artists who have chosen Torino for their education or workplace. The project takes the city as an enlarged territory, a place of birth or a spiritual homeland, but above all a platform, upon which to build a research effort fueled by opportunities for growth, mobility and external exchanges. Torino as an open city, therefore, a city capable of embracing the "two-way" logic that is essential in defining individual artistic careers. Greater Torino opens with the double personal exhibition devoted to Paola Anziché and Paolo Piscitelli. Despite the differences in their background the latter experienced Torino as a starting point, whereas for the former it has for some years been the center of several experiences and projects, they both put the principle of impermanence at the core of their work, exploring the relationship between body and sculpture, spaces and objects. Characterized by a strong performative quality, their works do not possess a fixed identity. They change their status whenever they come in touch with the public (Anziché) or through metamorphoses and transposition processes (Piscitelli). The theme of memory has recently become central for both the artists: Anziché critically re-reads the modernist experience, confronting the artistic and relational practice of Lygia Clark. Piscitelli records the transformations in the American landscape, trying to identify indicators of economic and social change.".
