The blue leatherette binding is clean and unworn, with unblemished gilt lettering and decoration to the spines and front boards. Everything is square and…tight. Inside the contents are clean and bright, with no ownership inscriptions or other markings of any kind. Not dated but c.1970. In 'A Connoisseur's Guide to the Books of Winston S. Churchill', Richard Langworth states "Collectors often ask whether this edition contains something different from the seven war speech volumes. The answer is yes". In fact Eade eliminated several of the speeches he considered to be peripheral and inserted five new ones. The addition of an index is also a huge plus. A moderately heavy set, this item may require additional postage.
