'And Dreams of Home' is a vivid photographic tour of the noted French interior designer's country home located in the south of France.Following a path through the house and garden Daraux comments on diverse subjects helping the reader to discover a few of the secrets that helped him design the house in a rich, French-country style. The book is divided into five sections; the first four correspond to the seasons of the year. The fifth section of the book includes intriguing vignettes of some of the painstaking restoration work and shows details of flooring, fabrics, and furniture used in the house. Specially commissioned photographs throughout the book masterfully convey the particular luminosity of each of the seasons. Jean-Loup Daraux has been an interior designer for many years and has worked on residences for several illustrious clients. The book has slightly loose hinges, gently bumped corners, and a slightly shifted spine, otherwise it is in excellent, like new condition with crisp, unmarked pages, a tight binding, and attractive, vibrant photos throughout. The dustjacket has minor shelfwear to the edges and corners of the jacket including a tiny tear at the top edge of the front flap and mild rubbing and surface scratching to both covers, otherwise the dustjacket is in very good condition, intact and clean, and is now in an archival protective mylar.
