Grande marca tipografica impressa in xilogr…afia al front., rappresenta Minerva che cavalca un leone ed il motto: "Virtuti omnia parent" cfr. (Zappella 844). Grandi capilettera xilografici. Nota di possesso manoscritta al frontespizio. Qualche insignificante goretta al margine esterno bianco di poche carte ma esemplare in più che buono stato di conservazione generale. Edizione piuttosto rara di questa celebre raccolta di trattati del giureconsulto veronese Bartolomeo Cipolla (1420 - 1475 ca.), professore di diritto civile dal 1458 nell' ateneo patavino, e di alcuni altri illustri giureconsulti del Rinascimento. Cipolla fu uno dei più importanti giuristi del Quattrocento e i suoi scritti furono pubblicati fino al Settecento. A Padova nel 1458 l' A. fu iscritto nel Collegio dei dottori giuristi e venne nominato professore ordinario di diritto canonico; dal 1461 fino alla morte tenne, sempre nelle studio padovano, una cattedra di diritto civile e dal 1474 fu il titolare della prima cattedra di diritto civile. Il Cipolla studiò diritto prima all'Università di Bologna sotto Angelo da Arezzo e Paolo di Castro, poi in quella di Padova, dove approfondì la conoscenza del diritto civile, canonico e feudale, ottenendo la laurea in utroque nel 1445. Iniziò allora la sua attività di docente prima nello studio di Ferrara nel 1449-1450 poi a Verona, dove collaborò alla redazione degli statuti cittadini e dove svolse attività di consulente, avvocato e giudice. A Padova nel 1458 fu iscritto nel Collegio dei dottori giuristi e venne nominato professore ordinario di diritto canonico; dal 1461 fino alla morte tenne, sempre nelle studio padovano, una cattedra di diritto civile e dal 1474 fu il titolare della prima cattedra di diritto civile. Continuò comunque a svolgere l'attività forense e nel 1459 fu nominato avvocato concistoriale presso la Curia romana; nel 1470 fu insignito del titolo di cavaliere e di conte palatino. La sua produzione giuridica risente preminentemente della lezione di bartolo di Sassoferrato, imprescindibile per i giuristi del tempo, cosa che spiega il giudizio sfavorevole dato sul Cipolla dall'Alciato e da altri giureconsulti appartenenti alle nuove correnti della scienza del diritto. I suoi lavori più importanti sono senz'altro i due trattati De servitutibus urbanorum praediorum e De servitutibus rusticorum praediorum, che derivano dalle lezioni di diritto civile tenute a Padova negli anni 1460-1461, sistematica esposizione della materia relativa alle servitù prediali, oltre a varie questioni concernenti i rapporti di vicinato e il regime delle acque, ma assai fortunato fu altresì il Tractatus Cautelarum, da cui furono denominate cautelae Coepollae i furbeschi accorgimenti giuridici impiegati per sfuggire alle maglie della legalità. Alcune gore di antica umidità non pesanti e non deturpanti il testo, soprattutto alla seconda opera. Nel complesso buon esemplare.
