This rare 19th-century study makes available the 15th-century texts of the Incunabula Principes (First-Principle Incunabula), which are among the first printed books and the first in the Italian language. Extending the thinking and technology of Johannes Gutenberg's invention, early Italian printers transformed the art of printing, producing texts with a design and quality not seen before or since. During this revolutionary period in the history of the book, Aldus Manutius of Venice stands as one of the most important figures. This volume reproduces his finest work, the 1495 edition of Aristotle, and demonstrates the blending of Renaissance humanism and the new technology of printing. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
