Specially bound by the author in a very strong full red leather binding…, lettered and decorated in gilt, with interior dentelle borders and bold decorative endpapers, marbled red. A unique custom-made copy with many additional pages of illustrations and hand-written notes tipped in. Black and white illustrations feature historical military costume, equipment and cartoons. Some illustrations hand-drawn, possibly by the author. BOOK: 'A military anthology of the days when pomp and circumstance attended the profession of Arms and war still was "glorious."' Original illustrated dust jacket tipped in, featuring an illustration of the bombardment of Prague by the Prussians in 1648. Very good. Very slight lean. Slight creasing and fading of leather at spine.

Former owner's name and addresses to blanks and half-titles. Text-blocks spotted, sporadic marginal foxing. Otherwise contents in good order. Overall a 'Very Good' set. Uncommon to find all three volumes together. Very Heavy - shipping to be advised.
