Amongst these plates are five folding plates, each lacking the folding portion of the plate.Originally published from 1764 to 1766 in 150 parts, this first edition thus was published in 100 parts bound together.With an inscription to the front pastedown identifying that these volumes 'were bought at W Robson's sale', and a further former owner's inscription, dated 1914.An impressively informative work, with anatomical, chemical and medicinal topics by M. Hinde; mathematical parts by W. Squire; gardening and botany by T. Marshall, and criticism, grammar, poetry and theology by Thomas Cooke. In a full calf binding. Significant rubbing to rear board, with minor losses to back strip head and tail. Joints starting, with boards tender. Former owner's inscription to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound.
