Very light edgewear else Fine. ; British Museum Occasional Paper Number 120; 161 pages; This volume has two distinct sections. The first records and comments upon the results of L. H. Cope's metallurgical analyses of Roman Imperial coins. The commentary is based on Cope's own thesis and publications, and also takes into account work published since his death. The second part is a detailed analysis of coins from the period AD 260-275, which provides comprehensive analysis of a range of elements from a large sample, to answer questions raised by Cope on differences in alloy composition and stages of debasement. Analysis of results tables are presented in order to help others with their own research.

Da: Between the Covers-Rare Books, Inc. ABAA, Gloucester City, NJ, U.S.A.
Unbound. Condizione: Near Fine. Three Carte de visite photographs. Each is approximate 2.5" x 3.5". Each is very near fine or fine. All three are by Cope, and each has a different style of back mark noting his location in Norristown. Two of the images (of a young woman, the other of a baby) are albumen prints on card (with the images in a raised dome shape - a reasonably uncommon format); the other is a tintype portrait of two young men, affixed on the back of the die-cut card with the photographer's label. An interesting little accumulation of a multi-occupational photographer who sometimes listed his occupation first as photographer; and other times first as an "Artifical Fly Tyer." Unusual.
