Full pale brown canvas with etching design in black, endleaves illustrated with the coats of arms of George ll and the East India Company. Val Biro's 14 scraperboard illustrations, 2 cartouches, 11 headpieces and the title page vignette. The etching used on the binding shows Fort Saint George at Madras and was made around the time Corneille was in India. 184pp, 8vo -218cms x 146 cms, 7¾" - 9¾". Folio Society number 220. The frontispiece reproduces a page of the original manuscript, which was compiled between 1754 and 1757.
