Scottish Art and Letters was a journal dealing with all aspects of Scottish culture and criticism, and ran from 1944 to 1950. This third issue contains articles by William Montgomerie, Joseph MacLeod, and others. There are short stories by Fred Urquhart and Balfour Brown, and poetry by several Scottish poets. The book is bound in the original brick-red cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with light bumping to the spine ends and top corners and some very faint patches of damp fading on the rear board. The contents are tight and clean with no inscription. The unclipped dustwrapper has shelf wear with some soiling and bumping and nicks to the spine ends and corners. Small pieces are missing from the bottom of the spine. There is a 1" hole in the rear spine edge with some surrounding small tears that have been repaired on the reverse with tape.
