It's a very interesting inscription, revealing a friendship between scholars who shared interests in history, medicine, literature ,and who had had an extended correspondence by mail. CONDITION -- VERY GOOD -- This is a previously owned book that remains clean and presentable, with the following particulars noted : EXTERIOR -- The spine displays some abrasion and loss of surface color - at the head the loss is more clearly discernible ' spine extremities are compressed and display abrasion, with fraying just starting; gilt lettering still fairly bright; front board is clean with but mild rub; rear board is clean , but has slightly more rub; rear board edges display a few small dents; text-block edges are toned, else clean.
