Trade Paperback. Condizione: Used - Very Good. The Walker Art Center recently opened its expanded space, which includes a new theater, a new restaurant, and more galleries, but is best known for being Herzog &de Meuron's first public building in the United States. The project drew national coverage from media including 'The New York Times. Expanding the Center' caters to and piques public interest in the building with a generous selection of images, including sketches, renderings, and photographs of the construction process and the completed work. Herzog &de Meuron's shimmering but grounded design mirrors the textures and shades of the Center's original space, and an institutional philosophy based in innovation and risk-taking, the exploration of alternative approaches to learning, the experimental use of technologies to communicate information, and the design of spaces to enhance a variety of museum experiences. The book is organized around the decisions and actions of the architects, builders, Center staff, and the audience Very nice clean, tight copy free of any marks.

Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Gut bis sehr gut. Condizione sovraccoperta: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 22 x 25 cm, 140 pages with 71 color & 10 bw.illustrations - In 2008, Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron and Chinese artist Ai Weiwei joined forces to design the celebrated Beijing National Stadium for the Olympic Games. In 2012, the team came together again for the Serpentine Gallery s acclaimed annual commission, as part of the London 2012 Festival, the culmination of the Cultural Olympiad. Their pavilion takes visitors beneath the Serpentine s lawn to explore the hidden history of its previous pavilions. Supporting the structure from below, eleven columns symbolize past pavilions, and a twelfth represents the current one. The pavilion s interior is clad in cork, to evoke the excavated earth, and is built as a network of pathways and trenches. Herzog & de Meuron and Weiwei s archaeological approach creates a space that invites visitors to look beneath the surface of the park as well as back in time to the inspiration of earlier structures.

SCHRAGER, Ian, HERZOG, Jacques, and DE MEURON, Pierre [55] pp. Ian Schrager Company & RFR. 2007 13 1/4" x 10 3/8" The monograph features a unique die-cut jacket and showcases the building's striking, innovative facade and interior designs. Limited-edition releases originally came housed in a translucent lucite slipcase alongside two behind-the-scenes DVDs. (Interview & Concept Video) The 40 Bond book (2007) is an exclusive, highly sought-after, limited-edition monograph documenting the creation of Ian Schrager's iconic NoHo luxury condominium in New York City. It features the groundbreaking architectural work of Pritzker Prize winners Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron. Handel Architects worked with Herzog & de Meuron to design this new 11-story luxury residential project at 40 Bond Street in Manhattan's NoHo neighborhood. The project features twenty-seven condominiums, five townhouses, and a penthouse in a radical reinterpretation of the traditional cast iron building. Duplex units modeled on townhouses occupy the first two floors, and more typical condo units fill out the eight upper floors, topped by a penthouse. On the upper floors, the design approximates its cast iron neighborhood by couching floor-to-ceiling windows in a grid of bottle-green glass bell-shaped mullions. Though the entire facade appears to be a monolithic panel, it's layered as a rain screen over window wall. The base features a 140-foot-long, cast aluminum gate inspired by New York City street graffiti. The graffiti motif continues into the seamless, white Corian lobby, which leads to the private residents' garden at the rear of the building. Each of the triplex townhouses has a private entrance off Bond Street, as well as private front and back gardens.
