Legatura strettamente coeva in piena pergamena rigida con titoli in oro al dorso. Alone all'angolo basso dei due volumi, marginali tracce d'umidità , fioriture e bruniture sparse, qualche trascurabili segno di tarlo l…imitato al margine di poche cc. Nel complesso esemplare discreto e genuino. Hugues Doneau (1527-91), celebre giureconsulto francese, fu uno dei maggiori rappresentanti della scuola culta; insegnò a Tolosa, Ginevra, Heidelberg, Leida ed Altdorf. Doneau (o Donello), schematicamente e frettolosamente accostato a Cuiacio ed agli esponenti fautori del metodo esegetico finalizzato alla storicizzazione del diritto romano, si distingue invece da questi per una forte impronta sistematica che lo colloca in un contesto di minore discontinuità rispetto al mos italicus ed alla tradizione di diritto comune. Quest'edizione raccoglie tutte le lecturae dell'A. sopra il Codice giustinianeo. Non comune e ricercato. Cfr. Kvk; non in Sapori. . . . . . . 0. . Book.

Professeur à Toulouse, il y croisera Jacques Cujas. Les indications en italien du privilège indique que cet ouvrage s'insère dans un projet de réédition des "Commentari delle Leggi di Ugone Donelli" en douze volumes in-folio (on sait qu'une telle édition sera publiée à partir de 1762, à Lucques). Bon état (reliure un peu frottée avec qq. mouill., petit accroc avec mq. en page de titre, qq. traces d'usage mais bon exemplaire par ailleurs). Langue: Latin.

Erste… und beste Ausgabe der Opera omnia des Donellus, die Grundlage aller späteren Ausgaben! - Neben Jacobus Cuiacius war Hugo Donellus unbestritten der bedeutendste unter den Rechtsgelehrten des Humanismus und ein Jurist von europäischem Rang. In seiner Würdigung stand er lange Zeit im Schatten von Cujas, bis ihm Carl Friedrich von Savigny zu allgemeinem Durchbruch verhalf, sodaß seit dem 19. Jahrhundert Donellus gerade in Deutschland eine besondere Wertschätzung erfahren hat, nicht zuletzt durch seine Aufenthalte an den deutschen Universitäten. Seine dogmatische Rezeption durch Savigny (Recht des Besitzes) liess die meisterhafte Exegetik von Donellus deutlich werden. Gleiche Bedeutung erlangte Donellus durch seine systematische Anordnung des Zivilrechts, wie es in seinen unvollendet gebliebenen 'Commentarii de iure civili' zum Ausdruck kommt. - Hugo Donellus (franz. Doneau, 1527-1591) studierte zunächst in Toulouse und wechselte dann im Jahre 1546 nach Bourges, wo er Schüler von Francois Duaren war. Im Jahre 1551 erwarb er den Doktor der Rechte. Von 1551 bis 1572 war Hugo Doneau Professor der Rechte in Bourges, der berühmten französischen Reformuniversität. Als Calvinist musste er 1572 nach den Ereignissen der Bartholomäusnacht fliehen und hielt sich zunächst in Genf auf. Ein Jahr später erhielt er einen Lehrstuhl an der Universität Heidelberg, folgte 1579 einem Ruf nach Leiden und wechselte schließlich 1588 an die Universität Altdorf, wo er noch vor Vollendung seines Hauptwerkes, den 'Commentarii de iure civili', verstarb. - Die Werke von Hugo Donellus wurden erstmals zwischen 1762 und 1770 in Lucca gedruckt, herausgegeben von dem Verleger J. Riccomini, wohl auf Anregung des Pisaner Rechtslehrers Bartolomeo Pellegrini. Die Ausgabe enthält außer den eigentlichen 'Commentarii de iure civili', die die ersten 6 Bände füllen, auch die anderen Werke des Donellus. Seine Aufwertung im 19. Jahrhundert wird zudem durch den Nachdruck Rom 1828-1833 deutlich, dem noch zwei weitere italienische Gesamtausgaben (Macerata 1830 und Florenz 1840-1847) folgten. Die Bände 1 bis 6 umfassen die 'Commentarii de iure civili'. Die Bände 7 bis 9 umfassen den Codex-Kommentar und die Bände 10 bis 11 haben Kommentare zu ausgewählten Titeln der Digesten zum Inhalt.
