[1863] In fólio de 30x23 cm. Exemplar apresenta leves manchas devidas a oxidação natural do papel. Book bounded in red marroquin, tooled in the spine and in the framework of folders with double decorative lines and super-libris with armored coat-of-arms of Pope Pius IX (1846-1878) on both folders. Finishing of the leaves with blue and decorative gold. Masterpiece of typographical work and bookbinding. Chromolithographies printed separately - colored and goldened stamps - inspired on the illuminated books of hours. Copy stained with natural foxing of the paper. The story tells the legend of the Eleven Thousand Virgins, which tells the story of the birth and childhood of the daughter of Théonoto of Ireland, and her life of holiness and knowledge of Holy Scripture. The text is ruled by beautiful stripe woodcuts.

(in Christian Vanden BERGHEN).
