Dies ist ein Problem, das ebenso alt ist wie die elektrische Energieversorgung selbst. D~ die hierflir erforderlichen Re­ chenverfahren lange Zeit nicht weiterentwickelt wurden und der praktische Betrieb damit fast ohne sie arbeiten muBte, lag einerseits am Fehlen geeig­ neter Rechenhilfsmittel fur diese komplizierte Aufgabe, zum anderen an der allgemeinen Ansicht, mit "gesundem Menschenverstand" und "Ingenieur­ gefUhl" das Ziel schon erreichen zu konnen. Es gab zwar zu Anfang der ftinfziger Jahre in den USA bereits Rechenschieber, die nach gleichen Zu­ wachskosten optimierten, und bald danach - zunachst auch wieder dort - Analogrechner, die es sogar gestatteten, die Netzverluste in eine Momentan­ optimierung einzubeziehen, doch waren alle diese LOsungen nicht geeignet, eines rages einen vollautomatischen Betrieb zu gewahrleisten. Eine echte Chance fur einen on-line-Betrieb konnte hier nur der Digital­ rechner haben. Er hat dariiber hinaus aber auch weitere Optimierungsauf­ gaben der Energieversorgung einer LOsung nahergebracht. So kann man wohl sagen, daB sich fur den rein thermischen Verbundbetrieb, auch unter Einbeziehung des Maschineneinsatzes, die Verwendung der auf den Digital­ rechner zugeschnittenen Methoden bewahrt hat. Auch fur den hydrother­ mischen Verbundbetrieb kommen - zumindest kurz- und mittelfristi- zahlreiche Verfahren mit gutem Erfolg zum Einsatz, desgleichen ebenso fur die Energieausbauplanung.
