First edition. 4to. 216 pp. Publisher's black cloth, silver lettered to the spine, dust jacket, from the library of the illustrator John Vernon Lord, loosely inserted are two copies of the invitation to the book's launch at Chris Beetles Gallery - one with an Alison Eldred Artists' Agency compliments slip signed "Peter", two copies of the order form and a double sided folded poster for a 2009 Anglo-French Peake exhibition ("Lignes de Fuite / Lines of Flight"). Illustrated throughout, often in colour. Small tear to the lower edge of the jacket, else very good. Lord was taught by Peake during his time as a student at London's Central School of Art in the 1950s. He is quoted in the book reminiscing about his tutor and has bookmarked that page with a post-it note.…
