Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. First edition. Paperback with French flaps. 26 × 24.5cm, 164pp. Published by the National Gallery of Ireland to accompany a major 1998-1999 exhibition dedicated to the Danish artist Peder Severin Krøyer (1851-1909) and his circle. In the late 19th century, Skagen - a remote fishing village at the northernmost tip of Denmark - became a sanctuary for a vibrant community of Nordic artists, writers, and poets. Attracted by the area's dramatic coastal light, stark landscape, and rustic lifestyle, artists such as P. S. Krøyer, Michael and Anna Ancher, Laurits Tuxen, and Holger Drachmann gathered there to paint en plein air. The catalogue provides an in-depth visual and historical exploration of this famous art colony, focusing particularly on Krøyer, who was renowned for his mastery of light, his luminous beach scenes, intimate evening gatherings, and portraits of his wife and fellow artist, Marie Krøyer. Condizione: Sehr gut. 111 Seiten mit zahlreichen Abbildungen, Sehr guter Zustand - geringfügige Gebrauchsspuren. Katalog zur Austellung aus Anlaß des 150. Geburtstages des Künstlers "Michael Ancher. Maler in Skagen. 1849 - 9. Juni - 1999" im Michael og Anna Anchers Hus - Saxils Gaard und Skagens Museum von 9. Juni - 20.August 1999 und im Altonaer Museum in Hamburg - Norddeutsches Landesmuseum von 16. September 1999 - 9. Januar 2000.
