Bound in full vellum-look paper covered boards with snake design stamped in gilt on upper cover. 8vo., original cream vellum-paper with serpent dev…ice stamped in gilt on the upper cover, spine lettered in gilt. Very mild bumping to headcaps and slight spotting to top edge, otherwise a very good copy. An Adam and Eve based story. Sandford felt that this was some of Webb's best illustration work and says of the paper used, it was 'lovely stuff' and that he particularly enjoyed using 'fantastical type.the effect of the Cochin, with the Fry's Ornamented type for the.title-page and the initial letters.had quite a different effect from anything else I had done'.
