Seemingly very rare, no copy on Copac and we have been unable to find any internet or other references to this work. General title page followed by five sections, each section with a car…d title page and thumb tab to the fore-edge. Part 1 General Orders: with text pages and 5 large folding tables; Part II Orders for Guards of Honour: text pages plus 1 folding table; Part III Orders for the Processional Contingent: text pages plus 3 folding tables/plans including one long five-fold plan showing "Composition of Naval Processional Contingent" and 3 folding maps; Part IV Orders for the Street Lining Contingent: text pages, various folding table and five large folding maps (partly printed in colour) of which a couple are particularly substantial; Part V Orders for Cadets Lining the Route: text pages with various folding maps, plans and tables. Original binding of Blue cloth with paper covered boards, title printed to the front board. In manuscript to the front board "Captain J. A. Creed[?] V. R. S. R.N.V.R. Copy no. 3." Binding generally very good with a little general wear and some fading, contents clean and tight, a couple of maps with very short tears at point of fixing to book. A very scarce work meticulously detailing the important roll of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines in the Coronation of 1953, including a number of spectacular maps. Bibliographic note: Clearly multiple copies of this document were printed as indicated by maps printed on colour; also the title page states "Relevant parts of these orders are to be studied by all Officers and Men of the Naval Brigade down to Unite Commander (Procession) and Platoon P. O. or S. N. C. O. (Street Lining)" which would require many more than one copy; but presumably most copies were disposed of after the event, rendering extant copies extremely scarce. Size: 4to. Book.
