To which is added, a Full Defence of Christianity, against the objections of atheists, deists, and infidels. By the Rev. J. Fleetwood, B.D. with improvements (the book not the author, presumably). Half-leather with ribbed spine; where the title is located on the second band from the head. AEG. Black endpapers. Two column typography. Condition (external): quite rubbed in places; including at the corners and especially along the spine. In particular, the leather at the head and tail of the spine is very frayed. Condition (internal): front pastedown/ffep has separated from the head downwards for a length of 75 mm/ 3" - though the board remains relatively firmly attached to the book block. Moderate tanning throughout with occasional spotting; more apparent on the book's preliminary and final pages. The intermittent b/w engravings (full-page) remain largely unaffected by this tanning. One of the front endpapers has an ink inscription from husband to wife: dated July 7th 1894. More information/photos on request. pp. 674, + 28 pages (three sermons) on the evidences of Christianity.
