Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. [1964] Blue hardcover, gilt lettering and design on binding and to top edge of text block, 264 pages, including Index and publisher's advertising at end. This is a compact book 4½ x 7-inches. It discusses two views of Gettysburg: The first is a human and sympathetic portrayal of the Confederate Army during the battle by a trained European soldier, Colonel Sir Arthur J. L. Freemantle. The second account is the stirring story of the battle by a participant in the northern Army, Lt. Frank Haskell (said to be "the truly classical account of the Battle of Gettysburg"). Both views are the most interesting accounts of the great battle. Condition: Light bump to the corner of the rear cover; short tear at top of the half-title page. Else, Overall, Very Good Plus. Text is clean, clear --- illustrations are vivid. Book kept in temperature-controlled room. Free of the smell of cigarette or cigar smoke. A nice, collectible book. Note: We are a well-established, well-respected, ethical book dealer in business since 1991. We describe the condition of our books thoroughly and honestly, so you'll know exactly what you will be receiving when you order. We ship promptly.

Hardcover. Condizione: Fine. BOOK DESCRIPTION: 16mo, xl, 264 pgs, list of Lakeside Classics titles, index, map frontis, other illustrations. CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Fine in BLUE CLOTH. Only the most minor rubbing on edges. Interior is tight and clean. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: It's not called a "Classic" for nothing. Gettysburg has always been a special place for me. On a clear, warm, sunny day in July, 1963, I saw my father fall under the shade of a massive shade tree as the Union Regiments and troopers held off the charge of rebels under the command of Gen. George Pickett. His "resting place" was comfortable and gave him a great view of the rest of the reenactment battle. Great book, Great condition. Would be welcome in any Lakeside Classic collection.
