There are a few small holes on the binder edges from excessive wear/rubbing. Interior: Inside the front and back covers have cracked away… from the binding, but are still attached by the cover cloth. There's a sticker from previous owner's personal library inside the front cover. Front end page was brittle and has cracked/has a tear. Red crayon markings inside the front end pages. Pages have begun to tan slightly and some have dirt smudges from pages being turned. All pages are present and readable. Overall: Fair to Good condition.

Margaret Fox, nee Fell, was a prominent early Quaker campaigner who married George Fox. Swarthmoor Hall, her family home, was in Ulverston, Lancashire. Undated but Preface date confirms gift inscription date. A sound reading and reference copy.
