The wine-colored cloth remains in particularly fine shape, with corners sharp and color bright; the spine label with black lettering is nearly as fresh as when first issued. The original pictorial dustjacket, unclipped, has taken all the wear: it is rubbed with a number of tiny tears and chips; however, no text is affected. This is astonishing autobiography by a writer who realized his exceptional psychic gifts early in life and whose contacts with the Unseen became stronger with advancing years. Later, he set out from Britain on excursions worldwide in search of psychic and traditional magical wisdom. His book contains detailed reports of his visits to Africa (Ethiopia, Somaliland, Kenya), Australia (tropical Queensland and the 'Dead Heart'), and the Pacific (Tonga, plus firewalking in Fiji). Published by Omega Press, Reigate, Surrey in 1954 (stated on title page), but the spine states 'Psychic Book Club'.
