Aus dem Nachlass von Th…eodor Schmierer und mit dessen Namenszug auf dem vorderen Vorsatz. Schmierer war Geologe, Mineraloge und Paläontologe, lebte 1879 Riet, Kr. Vaihingen/Enz - 1953 Berlin. Soweit hier evident, war S. ansässig in Berlin, anfangs "Kgl. Geolog", später Prof. Dr. und Abteilungsdirektor mit Dienstadresse N 4, Invalidenstr. 44 (Geol. Landesanstalt [auch Museum für Naturkunde?]); Wohnung in den 30er Jahren Waidmannslust, Dianastr. 72. Auf Publizität hat er offenbar nie Wert gelegt: der einzige uns vorliegende biogr. Nachweis sind die Kurzdaten in Kürschners Gelehrten-Kalender Jg.71950 (siehe oben). Seine Veröffentlichungen beschränken sich lt. GV auf die naturwiss.
