Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book gathers declarations, narratives, and illustrations on 120 paintings that decorate the halls of the Doge's Palace in Venice, Italy. Dating from the early 13th century to the 18th century, the artworks depict historical events, ceremonies, portraits of doges, and more. The book is divided into the representations that decorate the Sala del Scrutinio and the Sala del Maggior Consiglio, and each work is described in a separate chapter with a commentary explaining its historical context and thematic significance. The author also discusses the evolution of the paintings over time, shedding light on the changing political, social, and cultural landscape of Venice during this period. The book provides a comprehensive overview of the artistic and historical significance of these remarkable paintings, offering insights into Venetian history and the development of Renaissance art in Italy. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. …

Graziosi capilettera silografici. Legatura in pergamena molle coeva. Volume in discrete condizioni. Leggeri arrossamenti e fioriture in alcune pagine.

Cicognara 4338; Lozzi 5895; Schlosser, 1935, pp. 330, 486. Alcune carte leggermente brunite.…
