Significant moisture damage to bottom edge of both front and rear boards. The moisture carries through minimally to the prelim pages, though the list of specimens used for the drawings, and the drawings themselves, are not affected. Some small areas of staining to several pages. The jacket appears to have avoided the moisture, and is in good condition, with just some wear to the top ends of the spine and flap folds. The jacket now protected and enhance by a clear removable sleeve.

The accompanying scientific text and habitat descriptions were written by renowned botanists G.M. Chippendale and R.D. Johnston. About the Creator & Impact Stan Kelly (1911-2001) was actually a Victorian Railways engine driver who cultivated a passionate hobby as a botanical artist. Local lore suggests he would frequently slow his train down or jump out into the bush along the tracks to collect plant specimens to bring home and paint. His watercolours became so deeply revered for their scientific precision that he was awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 1980.
