Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. [1927], colour frontispiece + 52pp + [34]pp adverts, text in French & English, photographs in the text and full page, 7 colour illustrations, card covers. The book starts with a chapter In the Old Days and Nowadays which provides a brief history of road & rail travel in the Swiss Alps and moves on to Mountain Passes which details a number of road tours in the Alps. It concludes with a chapter on Postal Motor Car Service in the Alps and the Saurer Works which gives a history of the Saurer Company, founded in the 1850s and based in Arbon, who then manufactured cars, lorries and buses - such is the detail of this that we think that the book was either commissioned or published by them. A remarkable item we have not seen before, the tipped on colour illustrations by Reber (?) are a delight.
