Ausgehend von Stadtbiotoptypen wurden für den städtischen Raum 57 Stadtvegetationsstrukturtypen identifiziert und hinsichtlich ihrer Vegetationsparameter beschrieben. Auf dieser Datengrundlage wurden auf teil- und gesamtstädtischer Ebene mit den Programmen ENVI-Met und HIRVAC-2D Modellierungen zu klimatischen Wirkungen durchgeführt. Die daraus abgeleiteten flächenbezogenen Aussagen zu klimatischen Ausgleichsfunktionen von unterschiedlichen städtischen Vegetationsstrukturen sind in Steckbriefe für einzelne Stadtvegetationsstrukturtypen eingeflossen. Diese enthalten weiterhin eine übersichtliche Darstellung der spezifischen Vegetationsstrukturen und Aussagen zu ihren Biodiversitätspotenzialen. Aufbauend auf vorliegenden Kenntnissen zu Funktionen und Wohlfahrts-wirkungen von Stadtgrün und auf den im Projekt durchgeführten Modellierungen wurden Planungsempfehlungen zur Ausgestaltung von urbanen Freiräumen und Freiraumsystemen abgeleitet. Die Auswertung politischer und gesetzlicher Ziele zeigten Synergien und Zielkonflikte für die städtische Freiraumplanung auf. Basierend auf der Analyse der Potenziale und Defizite der Instrumente des Naturschutzes und der Raumordnung für die Umsetzung freiraumplanerischer Anpassungsmaßnahmen wurden Empfehlungen für die Anwendung des planerischen Instrumentariums formuliert."
