Frontispiece of Shakespeare has moderate foxing. includes "a history of the stage, a life of the poet, and an introduction to each play: the text of the plays corrected by the manuscript emendations contained in the recently discovered folio of 1632. To which are added glossarial and explanatory notes, and notes to the emendations, containing the readings of former editions by John L. Jewett." All books are individually examined and described. Never ex-lib unless stated.

Edmund Spenser (c. 1552 - 1599) was an English poet best known for The Faerie Queene, an epic poem and fantastical allegory celebrating the Tudor dynasty and Elizabeth I. John Payne Collier (1789 - 1883) was an English writer and scholar. He was well known for publishing many books on Shakespeare.
