This very scarce Edinburgh printing serves as the second appearance of the work since its original publication in 1510 and subsequent contemporary impressions in the early 16th century. Following the exceptionally scarce Roxburghe Club edition in 1817, limited to thirty-five copies. "Impression - Forty Copies" printed to the verso of the title page. Whilst anonymous, the introduction is attributed to British antiquary James Maidment, whose primary hobby included the collection of literary rarities.
