Two volume set in decorative cloth, lack dust wrappers, probably as issued, no inscriptions, frontespiece and colour plates to each volume, are all present as specified. Boards in very good order with only slight rubbing aalthough the spines are slightly faded, titles are still quite readable. Hinges are tight, no loose pages or turned over page corners, no spotting, page edges rough cut. Overall a very nice condition set. Heavy books please inquire for postage outside the UK.

However, Brummel has since been the subject of numerous literary portrayals has become a pre-eminent example of the dandy, who is best remembered for his rejection of overly ornate clothes for well-fitted bespoke garments. After a chronological narrative of Brummell's early life before Captain Jesse elaborates on Brummell's accomplishments, influence on society, and political views, before zooming in on important events in Brummell's life.
